What after rejecting credit card amendment?

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

Tell me why? asked:

Month before the end of 0% APR on my credit card I received a notice of “Important Amendment on Credit Card Agreement”. After doing some research I still not sure should I select the option of rejecting this amandment or not. I know that if I will chose the rejection, my credit crad account will be closed. Doing so, how much it can affect to my credit record? Does this makes any difference to my credit score? I read somewhere “the longer you’ve had this credit card the more it will hurt your credit to cancel it…” how much truth in this?
Thanks in advance.

How much of my credit card do I need to have paid to improve my credit score?

Janie asked:

When I turned 18 I knew I needed credit cards to grow credit. When I reached the $500 limit on my first card and the $2000 limit on my new card when I found that this was not good for my credit. I hear that as long as you don’t spend more than half of the available balance your credit will be fine. Is this true?

What happens to credit score if you close a store credit card?

bluetsuki32 asked:

I have a few store credit cards (Macy’s, Banana Republic, etc) in addition to a major credit card. I want to cancel some of the store credit card, but I don’t know how that effects my credit rating. I think closing credit cards in general lowers credit scores, but what about those store cards?

What credit card would you recommend for someone trying to re-establish good credit history?

Tamborine asked:

I have decent credit but I had cancelled all my cards when trying to get out of debt. I am now free of all unsecured debt but I need to have a card so in the future I won’t be hurt by having no credit.

I’m thinking I want a card with no annual fee and a low APR. The card would only be used very occassionally and paid off immediately. I have no desire to repeat previous mistakes.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good card for this purpose?
Okay, as I said, but everyone is skipping, is that I have decent credit. My credit score is 700.

When I got into trouble I went into debt consolidation right away BEFORE my credit got screwed up.

But I do appreciate those of you who are taking the time to answer.

How can I get my credit card company to report account information?

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

awill110 asked:

I got my credit report today and it shows that my total credit amount is $300 and I have $296 available. After further inspection I noticed that only one credit card had reported a credit limit/max balance and that all of my credit cards hadn’t been reported since April. Is there an effective way to contact the credit card companies and get them to report accurate and up to date information to the credit bureaus? I feel that this issue is affecting my credit score, so I would like to fix this.

Thanks in advance.

My credit card balance is over 50%. How long will it take my credit score to go back up?

Sunday, February 14th, 2010

Casey asked:

Hi. I recently just got my first credit card ever and used it to make a $1600 purchase. The credit limit is $3000, so obviously I’m over 50% of the balance, and I just learned that’s bad for credit scores. I expect to be able to pay off the purchase in the next two or three months. Will my credit score go back up immediately after I get the balance on my card down, or will it take a while? Thanks.
